Sorcery is the power to channel the essence from within one’s soul, forcing it out of the body and giving it form. Sorcery is the most flashy and direct form of magic, enabling one to do things like conjure flames out of thin air or perform incredible feats of strength.
While incredibly flexible, sorcery has several strict limitations on its use:
- Sorcery is immediate - sorcery burns the channelled essence to produce its effect in a single instant, more so than other forms of magic. For example, a sorcerer can launch a boulder into the air, but they cannot suspend it there.
- Sorcery requires motion - a sorcerer must move their body to give the channelled essence its shape and guide its motion. A sorcerer with both hands full might struggle to cast, and a one with bound arms and legs might be unable to use magic altogether.
