A town about 5 days sail from The Empire's shores, Gariss town is one of the oldest colonies established on the atolls, and was a key location in many wars between the Empire and Taanan tribes over the centuries. Over time, the town's populace decided to pursue independence from the mainland powers and neutrality from their conflicts.

Gariss town is spread between a half dozen small islands, each no more than twenty minutes rowing from the others. Despite the physical separation, the townsfolk share a strong sense of community, and often regularly gather for large feasts and potlucks.

Due to their history and the frequent changing of colonial powers, the people of Gariss Town have a unique blend of Luhist and Taanan religious practices. The town is home to a large temple to Baarib, the Taanan god of community, but the townsfolk also practice daily consecrations and wear religious garments as one would see in the Empire.
