Chain Masters

The Chain Masters, or Ancient Guard, as per their official name, are an elite troup of the Tal'Erj Halls of Law. They are mysterious and feared by all in the free city. 

The Chain Masters are not concerned with mere peace-keeping, nor do they stop to interfere in crimes outside of their very narrow focus. They specifically enforce, with lethal efficacy, the Covenant of the Ancients.

• Death is sacred. It is inevitable, and so, men should march towards it in prideful strides. Every soul has the right to a perfect death, where you may display your greatness to the ancients. To tarnish a death is to kill a man twice. For this, you shall give up your life, and resign yourself to the fury of the Righteous.

Though nobody knows exactly how large the group is, it is supposed that they are very few in number. This supposition is based on how exceptionally strong they are known to be, and also how weird they are. Focused to the point of being almost mindless, unflinching before the horrors of pain and death. What little skin is visible on their hands and face seem to be of a strange grayish color. And how unnervingly silent they are!
