Compels the target to speak or act the truth for the duration.
Creatures with previous experience in magic will sense themselves being affected.
Creatures with explicit magical abilities can counteract the effect if they know how.
Vancian Instructions
The caster must speak the spell name aloud while thinking of the target.
Practiced agents often place the magically-charged name of the spell into an innocuous-sounding sentence to hide the casting of the spell from the target, for example:
"What did you draw, exactly and what for? Please, tell us the whole Truth."
Runic Instructions
The caster must draw the rune on the target's open palm, then the target must raise their palm, keeping it open. The spell is dismissed if the aforementioned palm is closed.
This spell is difficult to apply during an interrogation with runes, but practiced agents often draw the rune on their own hand if they need to share information and wish to ensure that they are believed.
