Smartbook

Gadget

The SmartBook was an attempt to keep the tactile and real feeling of a paper notebook with the convenience of technology.

It uses advance electronic-ink technology to give the displays a realistic look comparable to an actual printed piece of paper. The screen is even designed to be able to fold at the center to provide twice the width of most usual displays. While some might note that writing or drawing on it has a little bit of lag, its hardly noticeable to all but the pickiest of users.

It has built in NFC communication to transfer anything on the display to another device as either an image or transcribed text if selected. With advanced detection algorithms doing a lot of legwork and being able to decypher even the sloppiest of handwriting, or to put a placeholder to describe an image's contents. You can also send images and text to the SmartBook to be displayed there. This feature has been used for various unique purposes such interactive story mediums, school assignments,

Its most wide-spread adoption has been schools, as its easier to curate and control than handing out things like tablets or laptops.
