The Twilight Peaks is surrounded by large mistfields, containing many dangers and monsterous beings. Many people have gone missing there.
The gang has traversed the mistfield with Verkenner, and upon exiting ( and relocating some goblins) , they find a tunnel leading back through the mist. The tunnel is dangerous, but it's perhaps less dangerous than the fields.
Why the mistfields exist is still a mystery
