Dobrun was a towering Tuskari warrior from the southern reaches of The Sands of Serrakhan, raised among the nomadic Tuskari people who roamed the vast dune seas. Life in the harsh desert forged him into a stoic and resilient fighter, tempered by hardship but never broken by it. Unlike his kin, who remained isolated from the world beyond the sands, Dobrun dreamed of adventure and sought a greater purpose beyond the shifting dunes.
His path led him to the Emris Adventuring Guild, where he proved himself in the fighting pits, earning a reputation for unyielding endurance and raw strength. Soon after, he joined The Sunsations on their journey northward, stepping beyond the sands for the first time in his life (see: Great Northern Voyage).
A Journey Across the Realms
Venturing north, Dobrun experienced his first airship voyage, an ordeal that left even his iron constitution weakened with relentless sickness and unease. Despite his prowess in battle, he found himself struggling against the forces of the sky rather than those of war. When the Sunsations arrived in Umber, the mountainous city of The Earth Realm, Dobrun made the difficult decision to part ways with his companions. The solid ground and the enduring strength of stone resonated deeply within him, and he found himself at home among the people of Umber.
For a time, he lived among the mountain-dwellers, forging bonds and learning the ways of the Earthen monks and smiths, embodying the stillness and patience of the mountains. However, his heart remained tied to the sands, and after some time, he returned to the Serrakhan Sultanate, seeking purpose among his people once more.
The Tides of Khaos
As The Tides of Khaos surged across the land, the Serrakhan Sultanate answered the Y’azi Empire’s call for aid. Dobrun, ever a warrior at heart, was sent as part of an elite force to reinforce the Imperial Y'azi Guntai, standing alongside the warriors of the empire against the onslaught of Unknown marauders, daemonic horrors, and the forces of ruin.
In the bloodied snows of the Tani Mountains, Dobrun made his final stand. Surrounded by a horde of berserk Norsemen, he fought with unrelenting might, his great warhammer crushing steel and bone alike. Even as he was overwhelmed, he took dozens of enemies with him, buying precious time for the Y'azi forces to regroup. His valor and sacrifice ensured that the enemy’s advance was slowed, and for that, he was honored by the warriors of the empire.
Legacy
News of his bravery and sacrifice spread across both the Imperial Y’azi Guntai and the Emris Adventuring Guild, cementing his name among the fallen heroes who gave their lives to hold back the Tides of Khaos. His Tuskari kin honored him in the traditional way of his people, laying his body to rest in the southern sands of Serrakhan beneath a great stone monolith.
Though his time was brief, Dobrun’s name is spoken with reverence—a warrior who crossed continents and realms, who fought with honor and strength, and who fell not as a victim of the world’s cruelty, but as a shield against it. His story is told beneath the desert stars, where the wind carries his name like the echoes of a distant storm.
