The long lost land of Mitharil was hidden in the furthest recesses of the The Shadowfell, said to be home to an ancient civilization of once humanoid mages, slowly turned to Shades over their time in the Shadowfell. Rumored to have been the sole survivors of the second continuum crisis, these mages of the Shadi Order were led by the then Archmage Valekith, within the Floating City of Netheril, crown capital of the empire of Mitharil. In the early ages of creation, Valekith utilized the Soulmonger Crystal which consumed the souls of the unwitting citizens in the world below to create a rift to The Shadowfell in which to escape the cataclysmic destruction event. Over many centuries, the citizens of the once elegant city have turned to the ways of the Shadi order, dark mages which manipulate the arcane shadow energy of their new plane.
