Oracle of Fate
NPC

Cyric, the Oracle of Fate, stood as a pillar of wisdom and defiance among the Fyrashan Spirit Seers. Known for his ability to perceive and interpret the threads of fate that bound all living beings, Cyric was an arbiter of destiny. Despite his blindness from birth, he transcended the need for physical sight, navigating the world through his profound connection to the cosmic fabric of existence.

Revered as a living embodiment of fate's intricate tapestry, Cyric wielded his abilities to guide the Unknown through their tumultuous existence in the Forlorn Flames of Fyrashan.

Appearance

Cyric's weathered visage bore the wisdom of countless ages. His luminous tattoos pulsated with ethereal energy, their intricate patterns forming a living map of the fate and destinies he had glimpsed. Draped in the simple garb of a Fyrashan monk, his attire spoke of humility and devotion, while the wrapped head scarf symbolized his rejection of physical sight in favor of divine insight.

Cyric’s gift allowed him to glimpse the past, present, and possible futures of mortal souls, weaving them together to discern the greater plan of the cosmos. In moments of dire need, he could even manipulate the threads of destiny, halting time itself or altering the outcomes of pivotal events.

Final Days

Cyric’s last act of defiance became a legendary tale of courage and fate. When the Chosen of Khaos unleashed Fralskjar, the ancient Fire Giant, upon the conclave of Unknown, Cyric stood firm as a tidal wave of lava threatened to consume his people. Harnessing his unparalleled mastery over fate, he stopped time itself, creating a precious window for those destined to survive to escape the fiery doom.

As Fralskjar plunged his fiery blade into the heart of Ashfjal, Cyric slowed reality to a crawl, confronting the Chosen of Khaos—Pali and Yavok Starpath—with a chilling challenge. He proclaimed that if fate truly decreed the end of his people and their sacred order, a game of chance would decide it. Producing the Deck of Many Things, Cyric invited each of them to draw, binding the outcome to destiny itself.

When Cyric’s turn came, he drew a card that sealed his fate—his soul was eviscerated in an instant, marking the end of the game and his defiance. With the threads of his own destiny severed, the tidal wave of lava crashed into Ashfjal, annihilating the remnants of the conclave.

Legacy

Cyric’s sacrifice immortalized him as a paragon of courage and devotion to the natural order of life and death. His actions saved countless lives, ensuring the survival of the Fyrashan's legacy. Among his people, he is remembered as the guardian of destiny who embraced the ultimate risk to uphold the balance of the cosmos.

The site of Ashfjal, now engulfed by lava and ash, remains a sacred ground, haunted by the echoes of Cyric’s final trial and the solemn resolve of a man who stood unflinching before the tide of annihilation.
