Somerset Island

Archipelago Island

In the heart of The Sea Realm, cocooned by the rhythmic lull of the ocean tides, lies Somerset Island, a vibrant oasis of sprawling emerald-green jungles and towering limestone karsts. Home to the fierce and ancient Saurus, Somerset Island stands as an untamed fortress in the open sea, its landscape a testament to both the power of the natural world and the indomitable spirit of its lizardmen inhabitants.

The island is shaped like a crescent, its inner bay known as the Bay of Somer, provides calm and nutrient-rich waters that nurture a staggering array of marine life. Conversely, the outer edges of the island host the Sharktooth Strand, a treacherous stretch of water infamously populated by frenzied hunter sharks, and the embodiment of the Saurus’ formidable nature.

Stretching skyward from the dense canopies of the island's lush jungle are numerous pillared karsts. These towering stone formations, adorned with cascading foliage, serve as natural strongholds for the Saurus, while also providing vantage points to survey their verdant kingdom.

At the heart of the island lies the ancient Temple of the Old Ones, a primal shrine bathed in the blood of countless offerings, and the epicenter of the Saurus’ spiritual life. Here, the Saurus pay tribute to their primordial gods, the echoes of their ancient chants resonating in the temple's hallowed chambers.

To the north, Somerset Island is guarded by a formidable natural barricade known as the Maw of The Ancients. This treacherous seascape, riddled with jagged rocks and towering karsts, has claimed countless Valar ships, its deadly jaws lying in wait beneath the deceptive tranquillity of the waves. This hazardous region is rife with Drowned Draugr, grim reminders of the island's deadly defenses, and testament to the Saurus' determination to protect their sacred homeland.

Whether it's the cacophony of the primordial jungle, the serene beauty of the Bay of Somer, or the haunting presence of the Maw of the Ancients, Somerset Island encapsulates the essence of the Saurus – a people deeply rooted in tradition, fiercely protective, and intimately connected to their environment.
