Shards of Veles are translucent stones with pulsating veins of color within them. They can be found in various parts of Midgard, and come in three distinct varieties, varying in color, location, and uses. While each of the three is known by a separate name they are collectively known as Shards of Veles. Legend has it they are crystalline scales shed from the World Serpent himself, scraped off as its unseen bulk shifts in Midgard's innards.
Khes Shards are named after the Earth Dragon God Khespotan, golden in color and found in mountainous regions. These are the rarest of the three varieties and not sold openly except the planar market of Klingedesh.
Void Shards are generally a dark blue or black and can be found beneath the surface of Midgard in deep underground caverns touched by shadow. While Khes shards are the hardest to find, Void shards are the most dangerous to obtain because of the denizens lurking in the veil between worlds.
Blood Shards are typically pink in color and can be found buried beneath top-soil, or the watery muck in swampy regions. Blood shards are the most common of the three varieties and tend to symbolize Veles' Ferocity in ceremonies.
