Perched atop a towering 1,800-foot plateau, the abandoned village of Manaloca stands as a stark reminder of the ancient Olmoy civilization. Time and nature have claimed most of the village’s wooden structures, leaving only stone foundations, crumbling ramps, and faint pathways to suggest its former life. Today, Manaloca is a hauntingly beautiful ruin, surrounded by sheer cliffs that provide breathtaking views of the vast jungle stretching below.

Upon arrival, visitors are met with a weathered wooden gateway, now in disrepair. Towering mounds of bleached skulls flank the entrance, their hollow eyes staring out over the plateau, hinting at the village’s troubled past. Past the gate, Manaloca’s stone ruins rise sporadically amid the thick jungle growth, their once-sturdy foundations swallowed by vines and time.

In this seemingly deserted place, the lone inhabitant is Anahata, a crone who lives in a solitary hut near the edge of the plateau. A figure of mystery, she is bent and withered, yet said to possess knowledge of both the village and the surrounding highlands. Few dare approach her, but those who do find her speaking of the old days, sharing stories of the Olmoy and the spirits that haunt the jungle. Anahata’s eerie hut, constructed from thatch, hides, and the bones of a great beast, is decorated with charms and totems that jangle in the wind, lending an air of mystique to the highland retreat.

Visitors to Manaloca may wander among its ruins, experiencing the tranquil silence and taking in the remarkable views from the cliffside. But beware: strange creatures are said to prowl near the plateau’s edges, and the jungle seems to whisper of forgotten curses and old guardians watching from the shadows.
