Stronghold of Ser Amonis, The Shield of Moog, protector of the Octad, master abjurer
Location: Unknown
Nestled high in the jagged mountains overlooking a dark, tumultuous sea, Vro Qafak is a forbidding sight, a grim monument to the power of Ser Amonis, the great abjurer and protector of the Octad. Built as an impregnable stronghold, it clings to the sheer mountainside, a fortress of stone designed to repel even the most potent magical assaults. Now, however, it has fallen into a far darker fate.
Appearance and Structure
Vro Qafak is an imposing, angular keep, its walls hewn from a strange, pale stone that gleams with an eerie light in the moonlit nights. The stone itself is imbued with an antimagic field, woven into the very rock by Ser Amonis during its construction. This field makes the fortress impervious to magical intrusions—no teleportation or magical scrying can penetrate it. Enchantments fizzle and fade within its walls, forcing even the most powerful wizards to rely solely on mundane strength and strategy.
From afar, the keep appears almost unnaturally still, as though time itself has slowed around it. Great towers rise from its center, their tops lost in the mountain mists, while the sheer walls are etched with glowing runes of protection, now dark and inactive in certain places where the wards were breached. The cliffs beneath the fortress plunge into the crashing waves below, while a single narrow bridge of stone is the only path leading to its massive, ironbound gates.
