Lonin the Historian

Overview:

Lonin is an ancient Olmoy engineer and historian, forced into eternal servitude under the tyrannical rule of the demilich Van Droth. In life, Lonin’s scholarly prowess and curiosity about the natural and magical world earned him renown. In undeath, this thirst for knowledge remains unquenched, driving him to uncover both ancient lore and current events. His role as Van Droth’s chief researcher and archivist has granted him a unique position within the undead hierarchy, but it is a role born of necessity rather than loyalty. Lonin’s expertise and understanding of forbidden secrets—especially from the time of the Great Old Ones—make him indispensable to Van Droth’s operations, and he continually updates his knowledge with the help of the Ghost Knights, led by Xuulreth the Rot-Eyed

Appearance:

Lonin’s form is haunting, a skeletal Olmoy draped in decaying scholar’s robes, with patches of ancient, cracked scales clinging to his bones. His eyes are hollow, replaced by a spectral glow that flickers like a weak candle. Despite his undead state, he maintains an air of academic dignity, moving carefully and slowly as if deep in thought. He often carries a staff inscribed with ancient runes, acting both as a tool and a conduit for his spells.
