Dream Sequence: The Rift and the Rescue
Tailyn's dreams spiral into a void of jagged stone and flickering stars, the oppressive presence of Sfatlicllp crashing into his mind. Her form emerges—shifting tendrils, countless eyes, and skeletal visages—looming over him like a storm.
Sfatlicllp’s Threats
Sfatlicllp’s Voice:
"Tailyn Blithe... I see thee, mortal. A seeker of knowledge, a weaver of threads unseen. Thy name is imprinted within the skull of one I have consumed—a scholar whose truths and fears now echo within me. I have sought thee out, for I know thy kindred soul. Yet I am wroth, mortal, for what I see in thy age displeaseth me."
"Thy kind hath spurned the divine order, trading purpose for chaos! Thy city is but an echo of its inevitable ruin, and thou shalt bear witness to its fall if thou dost not obey."
Visions of Seregon collapsing into fiery rifts flood his mind—its people consumed by tentacled aberrations as Sfatlicllp towers above, consuming all hope.
Sfatlicllp:
"Destroy the mycelium! Raise my temple! Swear fealty, or I shall rip thy city asunder!"
Her tendrils lash toward him, the void quaking under her wrath.
The Arrival
Suddenly, the air fractures with golden light. A commanding voice cuts through the void:
Vel Serath:
"Begone, Fallen Wisdom! Thy hold here is broken."
From the light steps Vel Serath, his form glowing faintly, his robes swirling with shadows. Wielding his staff, the Shield of Amonis, he repels Sfatlicllp’s tendrils as a globe of magical protection around Tailyn forces her to recoil.
Vel Serath:
"Thy time is over, Sfatlicllp. Thou art a relic of a fading age."
Vel Serath’s Guidance
Turning to Tailyn, Vel Serath’s tone softens, though his urgency remains.
Vel Serath:
"Listen well, Tailyn Blithe. There is a way to banish her—a glyph of ancient power, the Elder Sign. Carve it into the center of her temple with silver and salt and bind it with pure blood to sever her hold on thy realm."
He raises his hand, and a glowing Elder Sign appears in the air—its starburst form burning itself into Tailyn’s memory.
Vel Serath:
"Her monstrosities shall oppose thee, but thou art not alone. Go now, and remember—her fury is but the last cry of a fading power."
The Awakening
Tailyn wakes with a gasp, the Elder Sign seared into his mind. Though Sfatlicllp’s threats still loom, Vel Serath’s guidance fills him with purpose—and a faint hope to save Seregon.
