Nothus
As the pyre burns bright in the mortal plane, so too does it ignite the soul, illuminating a beacon to which rushes on tawny wings the Great Owl. She is kind in her salvation, saving the soul from the decaying confines of the body and like a mother to her children, will take them to salvation.
As in life, death is fierce and their are creatures in both that would prey on the soul, so the protection that Nothus offers is indispensable. The soul first severed is like a
newborn, until it’s memory returns and the shadows more quickly to snatch it away should the flames die to soon. As she bears them forth, the Obrusi believe that Nothus recounts ones deeds, praising the great and chiding
the terrible.
Once Heowmaeg is reached, the Owl leaves. They will never again to be seen by the one now found, for Heowmaeg is safe, even from the beasts beyond the world of mortals. For that was the might of Obrus.
