Implosion
4th-level evocation (Wizard)
Casting Time: Special
Range/Area: 90 feet/Special sphere size
Components: V, S, M (a tiny ball the spell caster crushes while casting the spell)
Duration: Instantaneous/special
Focusing your magical abilities on a spherical area, you create a powerful vacuum that intensifies and then implodes violently. Each creature in the sphere must make a Constitution saving throw. A target in the area takes Force damage and is pulled (creatures do not share spaces) towards the epicenter of the implosion on a failed save, or is not pulled and takes half as much damage on a successful one.
The damage, sphere size, the distance a creature inside the sphere is pulled, and the casting time of the spell vary as detailed in the table below:
Casting Time | Damage | Sphere Size | Distance Pulled |
Bonus Action | 6d6 | 10 ft radius | 5 ft |
Action | 8d6 | 15 ft radius | 5 ft |
Action and bonus action | 10d6 | 20 ft radius | 10 ft |
Action, bonus action, reaction, | 12d6 | 25 ft radius | 15 ft |
The spell also damages any objects in the area not held by a creature and turns the affected area into difficult terrain.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the spell deals an additional 1d6 damage for every spell level above 4th.
