Wealth doesn't lead to power. Power leads to wealth.

Sir Adam Morley, born Adam Chambers, is a rich politician in Owlchester. He inherited a small leather shop in Owlchester from his father at a young age and used innovative techniques to make the business flourish. After his wife Mary died in 998 AC, he sold the shop and started focusing on the gambling industry, setting up establishments to place bets on horse races.

When marrying his second wife Emily in 1017 AC, he took her family name to solidify his status in the city. In 1020 AC he was knighted for his services to the republic, following a large donation to the Copper Owls.
