Met up for lunch. Oris was put in charge of group conversation which he thought was activity. Had us pick flower crowns to give to someone along with compliments.
Sett -> Me -> Aggma -> Christopher -> Oris -> Sett
It’s not even blooming season. For someone apparently in love with nature this seemed to fly over his head. Whatever. Part of the team-building is following the directive. Sett said ‘I wasn’t what he expected’, which is a part of a compliment but not sure what he means. Maybe he thought ill of me? Well, I can appreciate that kind of compliment.
Met up again after some of us showered the mud off. Discussed our current mission and the Pippa/daughter situation. Oris feels it maybe best not to tell her father as she ran from him intentionally, Christopher feels we should follow our duty. I think we came to an agreement to report back either way, but I realized partway through we were meant to look for the rules for the hunt.
After a long drawn-out argument about following rules as written or intended. We finally agreed he can totally poke all the holes, bend all the lines he wants... but only if we tell them to patch the holes. Not to exploit and get a leg up. We head to Naomi’s to get more information. She told us thus:
- 3 Jurors: Gina, Brandon Onyxknives the tattoo artist, and finally the Duke himself
- Item must be local from the area
- Finding out info and rumours beforehand is fine. We just can’t search for it beforehand or plant it.
- Rumours
o A birdcage
o Stealing a chess set (won many times) but must protect it for the next year. Gregory has it.
o Defeating Itchy-Feet (if you can find him, he’s undefeated)
- Some other stuff. I wanted to find something spectacular, unheard of, and to be sung about about for years to come
Christopher went to go talk to the Duke. Oris wanted to go along, and I did as well. He for the same reasons as I, but... I want to because I have a bit of experience with shitty fathers. Maybe hearing from another daughter could help him see if he’s blind to it. Christopher chose Sett. Frankly, I’m a little pissed. But it’s not like he knows about my past and I’m not about to announce it.
(OOC wasn’t there. He thanked them, paid them, and mentioned another job trying to get tax collected from Gerald Harbridge)
Aggma and I went to figure out a really interesting and fantastical object for the scavenger hunt. I had some nonsense in my mind like an ancient relic. Reliquary containing crystalized tears of a goddess or something. We found ancient magic deer, a musty old glove, and some other things. All neat, nothing really what I was hoping for. Maybe I’m just trying to spotlight myself here. We got options, group decision anyway.

(OOC Oris decided to rumour hunt. He ended up stumbling into the tavern with the fortune teller who we totally don’t know anything about [its Nastus] giving a reading to Agnars. He asked about the missing kits.)
We met up the next day. Christopher doled out the coin. We discussed what we were going to hunt; Sett seemed distracted about the fortune teller. I sort of zoned out, thoughts drifting. Past, I guess, the issue with the Duke’s daughter struck a chord.
Sett asked me to join him with visiting the fortune teller. Clocked three guards with twitchy draw-arms. If it wasn’t already obvious that Sett had some sort of connection to this man, the first words made it clear as a still lake. They aren’t exactly friends. Sett seems to have more issues with him than the reverse.
From what I gather, this Nestus went and killed a kid. Told Sett to keep a cool head but I lost it. Pushed down a well, he said, actions outside his control. Throwing a dagger and blaming the blade, not the hand. The weasel tried to slink away, but Sett held him down. Snake tried to cast a spell and a punch was thrown. Felt the string on my face, fletching in my fingers, before I realized I drew my bow.
(OOC: Guess we’ll find out how it all plays out next week)
