Malagore

Archon of Armageddon

Description

Malagore, the Archon of Armageddon, is the god of destruction and chaos. Known for his unquenchable thirst for absolute power, he embodies apocalypse itself, seeking dominion through fire, conquest, and ruin. His realm of Tamahirii is a violent wasteland of towering volcanoes, roaring wildfires, and ceaseless earthquakes—a landscape that mirrors his nature.

Over the ages, Malagore has been envisioned in many forms. In some depictions, he is a towering black-armored warlord, a harbinger of the world’s end. More often, however, he is portrayed as a colossal, winged devil, wielding both a massive battleaxe and a warhammer, each strike said to tear apart mountains. Legends claim his fury can shake entire continents, setting them ablaze with a single wave of his hand. Both mortals and gods fear his presence, for mercy has no place in his heart.

Despite this terror, Malagore does not stand alone. He is revered by demons, archfiends, and chaotic beings who see him as the supreme embodiment of destruction. Some mortals, driven by desperation or ambition, also turn to him, bargaining loyalty for a fragment of his power—though most rarely survive the pact.

History

The Infernal Conquest

In the earliest days, the fire titan Azera gave birth to three gods to rule in her name: PharadosHorus and Malagore. But her creations turned against her, overthrowing their mother and imprisoning her within the core of Tamahirii. While Pharados and Horus fled to Midora, Malagore embraced his mother’s hunger for power. Consumed by his own ambition, he struck down his brothers, forcing them into retreat. Left unchallenged, he crowned himself the sole tyrant of Tamahirii, ruling with an iron fist and forever seeking new realms to conquer.

The Shattering of Malagore

In the year 600 of the Third Age, Malagore descended upon the continent of Midora, seeking to annihilate his brothers and claim Midora itself. His armies burned across the land, driving mortals and gods alike to desperation. Four grand hosts rose in defiance: the Silverin Guard of the Dominion led by Pharados, the Sun Lords of the Nagan Empire led by Diion, the Executioners of Light of the Dynasty led by Horus Khein, and the Blackmanes led by the King of Kalamar.

Their final stand took place upon the scorched continent of Eros, where Malagore sprung a trap amid rivers of lava. The Silverin Guard were first to fall, broken upon the molten fields, remembered now only by name. The Sun Lords perished as the earth itself split, their legacy consumed by fire. The Executioners of Light, cut off from Horus by the cataclysm, were overwhelmed. At last, the Kalamar King, mortally wounded, uttered a forgotten name: Rhaaga.

From the fissures poured forth the abyssal queen and her legions. The world trembled as Rhaaga turned her fury upon Malagore. In the chaos, his form was shattered into shards, his armies routed, and his dominion broken. Survivors sealed his fragments within crypts, sworn that his legacy of ruin would never return.

The Failed Return

In 912 of the Fourth Age, cults devoted to Malagore sought to undo this sealing. Believing his defeat only temporary, they scoured Midora for his shards, desecrating tombs, raiding sanctuaries, and warring even with rival cults. With each fragment they gathered, Malagore’s presence stirred, his essence clawing back into the mortal world.

Yet, a band of adventurers, Midora's Heroes arose to oppose them. Against overwhelming odds, they foiled the cult’s designs, uncovering the last shard and striking Malagore once more. His essence was banished back into Tamahirii, where his generals, consumed by infighting, keep his spirit fractured and powerless—for now.

Shards

The Shards of Malagore are fragments of his broken essence. Some were locked in hidden crypts, sealed by divine wards and mortal oaths. Others were stolen by his subordinate archfiends, who wield them as sources of immense personal power. Each shard pulses with destructive energy, a remnant of the god himself, and to gather them all risks awakening the apocalypse anew.

Personality

Malagore is the embodiment of unrelenting destruction. He is merciless, wrathful, and utterly consumed by the desire for dominion. Unlike his brothers, who temper their power with purpose, Malagore sees only conquest as worthy. To him, ruin is not a tragedy but a natural truth: all things must burn, break, and bow before him.

Worshipers

Though outlawed in nearly all lands, Malagore’s worship persists in secret.

  • Demons and Fiends: His most devoted children, serving him as soldiers, generals, and usurpers in Tamahirii.
  • Cultists of the Shards: Mortals seeking fragments of his essence to wield forbidden power.
  • Warlocks and Fanatics: Those who bind themselves to Malagore’s shadow in exchange for strength, often meeting tragic ends.
  • Hidden Sects: Cults scattered across ruins, lava caverns, and wastelands, whispered about but seldom seen.

His following is small but ferocious, thriving in chaos and always seeking to gather the scattered shards of their lord.

Abilities

  • Apocalyptic Might: Said to ignite continents with a single gesture.
  • Titanic Form: As a winged colossus, his strikes with axe and hammer can shatter armies.
  • Infernal Dominion: Commands legions of demons, firestorms, and volcanic fury.
  • Fragmented Essence: Though broken into shards, each fragment carries a fraction of his devastating strength.

Possessions / Relics

  • The Warhammer of Cataclysm: Said to crack continents with a blow.
  • The Battleaxe of Inferno: A weapon of pure fire, wreathed in volcanic ash.
  • The Shards: Fragments of his essence, scattered across Midora and Tamahirii.

Legacy

Malagore’s legacy is one of ruin and warning. His conquests left continents scarred, kingdoms obliterated, and entire legacies reduced to ash. The Shattering of Eros stands as the most destructive event in Midora’s history, a scar upon the world that has never healed. Though banished, his cults and shards keep the threat of his return alive. To this day, parents warn their children: “Do not tempt the fire, lest Malagore rise again.”
