Lizardfolk

Humanoid, Reptilian

Physical Description:

Lizardfolk are a reptilian race, boasting robust bodies covered in scales that range in color from earthy tones like green, brown, or grey to more vibrant hues like red, blue, or gold. Their thick scales provide natural armor, offering protection against various environmental elements. They have elongated faces with sharp, toothy maws and slender, serpentine eyes that possess an unnerving intensity. Tall and powerful, they stand around 6 to 7 feet in height, their muscular frames hinting at incredible strength.

History:

Lizardfolk trace their origins to the ancient jungles of Lunora, where they have thrived for countless generations. Their history is steeped in mystery and legend, often intertwined with the dense, unexplored landscapes they inhabit. When the Nagan Empire emerged and began its expansion, the Lizardfolk were among the first to encounter and join forces with the flourishing civilization. However, they maintained their tribal customs and often retreated to their ancestral lands, preferring to live in harmony with the natural world.

Society:

Lizardfolk are deeply entrenched in their tribal societies, each clan possessing its unique customs, traditions, and beliefs. Some clans are nomadic, wandering the jungles in search of water sources and resources, while others establish settlements within ancient ruins or near sacred sites. They honor their ancestral spirits and revere nature, often acting as guardians of the jungles they call home. Lizardfolk  value strength, resilience, and adaptability, considering these traits vital for survival in their harsh environment. However, some adventurous individuals break away from traditional life, seeking to explore the world beyond their jungle realms or integrate themselves into more civilized societies.

Lizardfolk names often reflect their connection to nature and the primal world, with examples such as Sssthrok, Kesshara, Varlash, or Drasgul.
