Hillburg is a small hamlet located on the road between Whitechapel and Falktown. Despite its small size, the village has been a common stop for travelers and merchants. However, the hamlet has a dark past. There were rumors of it being haunting the place for many years. Outsiders generally avoided it whenever possible, and it was known as a ghost town for a while until The Dominus Chain built a military fort next to Hillburg. Since then, travelers and merchants have started coming through the village more often.

Places of interest.

  • The Lonely Crane: The only tavern in Hillburg, owned by the Mudvark family. It is a small and homey place that offers home-cooked meals to travelers. The Mudvarks are a lowborn family that has been living in Hillburg for generations. Despite being poor, they always welcomed travelers with open arms and provided them with a warm place to rest and a hot meal. The tavern has a cozy fireplace, and the walls are decorated with old hunting trophies, giving it a rustic feel.

  • Military Fort: A fortification built around an old watchtower that dominates the landscape. It was built by the Dominus Chain to protect the road between Whitechapel and Falktown from bandits and other threats. The fort has a small garrison stationed there, and they keep a watchful eye on the road. The Dominus Chain has also helped to build some basic infrastructure in the village, such as a well and a few small farms to ensure the locals have enough to eat.
