Riverwood Root Staff

Quarterstaff (Requires attunement)

The Riverwood Root Staff is a beautifully crafted wooden staff, made from the finest fey wood found in the mystical Riverwoods. At its top, three thick roots curl around a shimmering Kvilla crystal. This staff is commonly wielded by the Druids of the Riverwoods, who revere its connection to nature and the moon.

The Riverwood Root Staff is a prized possession among druids, valued at approximately 800 gold pieces due to its rare materials and magical properties.

Forged in the heart of the Riverwoods by ancient druids, the Riverwood Root Staff is a symbol of the deep connection between the Druids and the natural world. The Kvilla crystal at its core is said to be a gift from the fey, capturing the essence of moonlight. This staff has been passed down through generations of druids, each attuning to its power and adding their own enchantments to strengthen its magic.

Attunement:

To attune to the Riverwood Root Staff, you must be a Druid and spend a short rest meditating with the staff, focusing on its connection to the natural world and the moon's light.

Special Abilities:

  • Unveiling Moonlight: The staff has 5 charges. While attuned to the staff, you can expend one charge to cast Unveiling Moonlight as an action. You hurl a beam of pure moonlight at a target within 60 feet, making a ranged spell attack. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 radiant damage. If the target is a shapechanger, it must succeed on a DC 18 Charisma saving throw or instantly revert to its original form.
    • At higher levels: This spell’s damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).
  • Recharge: The staff regains 1d4 expended charges daily at dawn.
  • Radiant Illumination: The Kvilla crystal at the staff's top glows softly, providing dim light in a 10-foot radius when the staff has at least one charge remaining.
  • Quarterstaff: The Riverwood Root Staff can be used as a magical quarterstaff, granting a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it.
