The Gilded Guilds

Mining Guild

Guild History

The history of the Gilded Guilds of the Vache Kingdom is a long and complex one. The guilds were formed long ago, during a time of great political and economic upheaval. At that time, the Vache Kingdom was facing a severe shortage of resources after times of war, and the ruling classes were desperate to find a way to increase their wealth and power. It was during this time that the existence of Black Cobalt was first discovered. This rare mineral was found within the deepest mines in the Kingdom, on the edges of the first sphere of the Abyssal realm, where some of the most dangerous demons roamed. Despite the risks, the some mining Guilds saw the potential for wealth and power that lay in the mining and selling of Black Cobalt.

At first, the mining of Black Cobalt was a small-scale operation, undertaken by individual miners and small groups of workers. However, as the demand for the gemstone grew, so too did the scale of the mining operation. The Gilded Guilds were formed to oversee the mining of Black Cobalt, and they quickly became powerful and wealthy entities in their own right. They were able to extract Black Cobalt from the deepest mines more efficiently than any other group, thanks to their access to the latest technology and magic. They developed new techniques for mining and refining the mineral, and they were able to transport it safely to buyers all over the world.

However, the mining of Black Cobalt was never without risk. Not only is the gemstone corrosive, demons were always a threat, and accidents were common. Many workers were injured or killed in the mines, and the Gilded Guilds were often criticized for their callous treatment of their workers. Despite this, the Gilded Guilds continued to mine Black Cobalt, believing that the rewards were worth the risks. The gemstone was highly prized for its crafting and arcane properties, and it was said to be able to enhance the necrotic powers of mages and sorcerers. The Gilded Guilds became even more powerful and influential as the demand for Black Cobalt grew, and they were able to establish themselves as a dominant force in the Vache Kingdom and beyond.

Abilities

Members of the Gilded Guilds are skilled in the art of mining and extraction, and possess knowledge of the latest technologies and magical methods for extracting Black Cobalt from the abyss. They are also trained in combat, as they must be able to defend themselves against demon attacks in the dangerous regions where the mines are located. Some members of the Guilds possess knowledge of necrotic magic and are able to use the Black Cobalt to enhance their powers.

Hierarchy

The Elder Durin is the ultimate leader of the Gilded Guilds, and is responsible for making all final decisions regarding the Guilds' operations. The Elder Durin is a respected and powerful figure, and is chosen based on their experience, knowledge, and ability to lead.

Beneath the Elder Durin are the Chief Engineers, who are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the mining operations. They are responsible for ensuring the safety of the workers, managing the mining equipment, and overseeing the extraction and transportation of the Black Cobalt. The Chief Engineers are typically experienced miners who have proven themselves to be knowledgeable and capable leaders.

The next rank in the hierarchy is the Deep Miners, who are the everyday workers in the Guilds. They are responsible for physically extracting the Black Cobalt from the mines, and must work in difficult and dangerous conditions. Deep Miners are highly skilled, and must undergo extensive training before they are allowed to work in the mines. They are well-respected within the Guilds, and are often rewarded for their hard work and dedication.

The lowest rank in the hierarchy is that of the Apprentice. Apprentices are new members of the Guilds, and have not yet proven themselves to be skilled or knowledgeable enough to work as Deep Miners. They undergo extensive training in mining techniques, safety procedures, and Guild rules before they are allowed to work in the mines. Apprentices are closely monitored by their superiors, and must work hard to prove themselves and move up in the ranks.

Beliefs & Goals

The Gilded Guilds have a strong belief in the importance of hard work, dedication, and loyalty. They believe that the rewards of mining Black Cobalt are worth the risks, and are willing to sacrifice their safety and well-being for the good of the Guilds. They also believe in the importance of technology and magic, and invest heavily in both to ensure the safety and productivity of their workers.

The primary goal of the Gilded Guilds is to extract as much Black Cobalt as possible, and to use it for crafting and arcane purposes. They are highly competitive with each other, and strive to be the most productive and profitable Guilds in the Vache Kingdom. The Gilded Guilds also aim to maintain their power and influence within the Kingdom, and are willing to use their wealth and resources to achieve this goal.

Guild Rules

The Guilds have strict rules that all members must abide by. These rules are designed to ensure the safety of the workers, protect the interests of the Guilds, and maintain order and discipline within the organization. The rules include requirements for safety gear and equipment, restrictions on personal possessions and outside influences, and punishments for breaking Guild rules or behaving in a way that endangers the Guilds or their operations.
