Special Abilities:

  • Molten Gemstone: The rifle can be loaded with small arcane gemstones, each containing a reservoir of magical energy. When the rifle is fired, the gemstone is depleted by 1 charge. The rifle starts with 10 charges before the gemstone needs to be replaced.
  • Fire Bolt: As an action, the wielder can fire the rifle, expending 1 charge. The rifle shoots a bolt of arcane fire at a target within its range. The target takes 1d10 fire damage on a hit.
  • Fireball (5th Level): As an alternative use, the wielder can expend 5 charges to fire a fireball spell at a point within 150 feet of the wielder. The fireball detonates, dealing 10d6 fire damage to all creatures within a 20-foot radius. This use of the rifle leaves it damaged and in need of repair. It requires  long rest and appropriate tools (Tinker's Tools) to repair.
  • Fireball (9th Level): As a last resort, the wielder can expend all 10 charges to overload the rifle, causing it to discharge a massive fireball spell. The fireball detonates at a point within 150 feet of the wielder, dealing 14d6 fire damage to all creatures within a 40-foot radius. This use of the rifle destroys it beyond repair.
