Attunement:
To unlock the magic within the Book of Shadows, a character must spend a short rest in focused meditation with the tome, delving into its wicked contents and attuning their mind to the dark forces hidden within its pages.
- Master of Deception: Upon attunement, the character gains an innate understanding of deception and manipulation. They become proficient in the Deception skill, allowing them to deceive and mislead others more effectively.
- Otherworldly Gaze: The dark knowledge contained within the book lends an aura of dread and malevolence to the attuned character. They gain a +2 bonus to Charisma (Intimidation) checks when attempting to instill fear and intimidation in others.
- Hex Spell: Once per short rest, the character can draw upon the malevolent energies of the Book of Shadows to cast the "Hex" spell on a creature they can see. When the target of the Hex takes damage, the spell inflicts an additional d6 of necrotic damage. The character can maintain concentration on the Hex spell for up to an hour or until the target drops to 0 hit points.
