It is the year 915 of the 4th Age.
The land of Vikholm faces turmoil following the unexpected demise of the Evergreen Queen. Struggling without her guidance and protection, the Plain Lords establish a temporary court, comprising representatives from various factions including the Ursa Party, the Howlguard, the Dominion, and the Dynasty. Amidst their power struggles over the past two years, the people suffer from a peculiar drought that triggers a devastating famine in the south. Forced to seek sustenance from the sea, overfishing leads to conflict and arrests, pushing some toward piracy and hunting formidable sea creatures.
To the east lies the enigmatic Gravelock Ocean, home to pirates from Kalamar and seafaring slavers from the Dynasty. Venturing into its depths promises untold riches, but the dangers are grave, and few return from its depths. You and your companions are newly enlisted aboard the colossal Goliath-class ship, the "Great Endeavour." Regarded as a floating fortress, it's the last of its kind, steeped in sailor lore and tales of survival. However, your excitement at the recruitment is tempered by the realization that you're replacing those lost at sea.
