Seven Blessings

Celebration

Date: 1st of Tang.

Significance: The Seven Blessings marks the beginning of the Season of Blessings, a time dedicated to invoking the wisdom and order of Laaos, the God of Spring. This festival is celebrated throughout the Nagan Empire and the Kami Concord, emphasizing community spirit and the hope of receiving blessings from Laaos himself. Over the first seven days of Tang, individuals and communities engage in acts of generosity and service, making one offering each day to benefit their community. These offerings are believed to earn the favor and blessings of Laaos, promoting growth, renewal, and harmony within society.

Traditions/Events:

  • Ceremonial Planting of Trees: Each day of the Seven Blessings involves a tree-planting ceremony, symbolizing growth and renewal. These trees are often planted in communal spaces such as parks, town squares, and along roadways, creating a lasting legacy of the festival.
  • Community Feasts: Large communal feasts are held, where food is shared among all members of the community. These feasts are a time for socializing, fostering community bonds, and expressing gratitude for the blessings received in the past year.
  • Sharing of Wisdom: Elders and knowledgeable individuals in the community share stories, teachings, and wisdom. These sessions often take place in public forums, such as town halls or temples dedicated to Laaos. The sharing of wisdom not only honors Laaos but also educates and inspires the younger generation.
  • Offerings of Service: Each day, individuals and groups perform acts of service for the betterment of their community. These acts can include cleaning public spaces, repairing infrastructure, helping those in need, and other charitable activities. These offerings are made with the hope that Laaos will see the community's dedication to order and growth and bless them accordingly.
  • Ritual Prayers and Songs: Daily rituals include prayers and songs dedicated to Laaos, performed at dawn and dusk. These rituals are often conducted at temples, shrines, or in communal spaces, with participants wearing traditional attire and using ceremonial instruments.
  • Wisdom Circles: Gatherings known as Wisdom Circles are held where people come together to discuss important matters, share advice, and resolve conflicts. These circles embody the spirit of Laaos' wisdom and aim to create harmony and understanding within the community.
