The Dragon Hunter [Contract]

Hireling

Dragon Hunters are individuals who specialize in hunting down all kinds of dragons, often working in groups but sometimes venturing alone. They can be found seeking work across the continent of Agera, notably in the countries of Rivermond, Kalamar, and parts of the Silver Dominion. Although rare, they are also known to operate within the deserts of the Khein Dynasty. These professionals have honed their skills specifically for tracking and slaying dragons, making their services highly sought after by merchant caravans, landlords, and adventurers facing draconic threats. Dragon Hunters are as diverse as general adventurers, with some being martial battlemasters and others arcane warriors. Their reputation for expertise is matched only by the expense of their services.

Training to become a Dragon Hunter is an arduous and perilous process. They are often recruited at a young age and trained intensively in a variety of disciplines, including combat tactics, survival skills, dragon lore, and magical resistance. Dragon Hunters are expected to master various weapons and techniques suitable for confronting dragons, such as greatswords, spears, bows, and arcane spells. They must possess exceptional bravery, resilience, and resourcefulness. The bond between Dragon Hunters and their mentors is one of respect and mutual understanding, built on the shared goal of overcoming the most fearsome creatures known to mortals.

Strengths

  • Versatile Skills: Dragon Hunters are trained in various areas, allowing them to adapt to different tasks and situations. They are proficient in combat, dragon tracking, survival tactics, and often possess knowledge of arcane arts.
  • Loyalty and Devotion: Dragon Hunters are deeply committed to their craft and will go to great lengths to ensure their hunts are successful. Their dedication to hunting dragons drives them to continually improve their skills and strategies.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Dragon Hunters possess extensive knowledge about dragons, including their behaviors, weaknesses, and habitats. This specialized knowledge gives them a significant advantage in tracking and slaying these formidable creatures.

Weaknesses

  • High Cost: The services of Dragon Hunters are expensive due to their specialized skills and the high risk involved in their profession. This can make hiring them a significant financial burden.
  • Solitary Nature: Dragon Hunters often operate alone, which can limit their ability to handle multiple threats simultaneously. Their solitary nature can also make it difficult for them to work as part of a larger team.
  • Vulnerability: Despite their expertise, Dragon Hunters are not invincible. The inherent dangers of hunting dragons mean that even the most skilled hunters can find themselves in life-threatening situations.
