Moonshadow Herb

Component / Consumable

Moonshadow Herbs are a rare and unique plant species found exclusively in the Highmarsh region. These herbs thrive in open glades and old ruins within the marshes, where the light from the moons can reach them. They are difficult to locate as they blend seamlessly with the surrounding flora and only bloom under the light of a full moon. The leaves of the Moonshadow Herbs are silvery-green, shimmering faintly in the moonlight, which is the best time to harvest them.

Market Value:

  • Fresh Herb: 150 gp per leaf
  • Processed Herb (powder or tea): 200 gp per dose

Moonshadow Herbs are highly prized by herbalists and alchemists for their potent medicinal properties. The plant's numbing and pain-relieving qualities make it valuable in medicine, while its potential for misuse in creating unsavory drugs makes it a sought-after commodity in less savory circles.

Special Features:

  • Pain Relief: The leaves of the Moonshadow Herb can be applied directly to wounds to provide immediate pain relief. When a leaf is placed on a wound, it numbs the pain and provides a creature with temporary hit points equal to 1d6 + the creature's Constitution modifier. These temporary hit points last for 1 hour.

  • Herbal Infusion (Powder/Tea): When the herb is ground into a powder and infused into a tea, it grants the drinker temporary advantage on Constitution checks and Constitution saving throws for the next 4 hours. However, due to the herb's potency, it also imposes a level of exhaustion after the effects wear off.
