Contract Permit: Teleportation Circle

Bastion Facility

A Teleportation Circle facility is a permanent magical circle inscribed into the floor of your Bastion. This facility allows you to recruit powerful spellcasters by inviting them to your Bastion for a limited time. The circle acts as a gateway for these magical visitors to arrive, granting you access to their expertise for a short duration.

Item Type: Facility Permit
Level: 9 Bastion Facility
Prerequisite: None
Space: Roomy
Hirelings Required: None
Order Type: Recruit (1d6 BP)

Benefits:

  • Recruit Spellcasters (Recruit Order):
When you issue the Recruit order to this facility, your Bastion sends out an invitation to a friendly Mage (or Archmage if you are level 17 or higher) to visit your Bastion.

    • Roll any die:
      • If the result is odd, the invitee declines, and you gain no benefit.
      • If the result is even, the invitee accepts the invitation and teleports to your Bastion via the Teleportation Circle.
    • The spellcaster remains in your Bastion for 7 days. They won’t assist in defending your Bastion, and they leave immediately if it’s attacked.
  • Request a Spell:
While the Mage or Archmage is in your Bastion, you can request that they cast one spell for you:

    • Mage: You may request a Wizard spell of 4th level or lower.
    • Archmage (available at level 17+): You may request a Wizard spell of 8th level or lower.
    • The spell can either be one the visitor has prepared or one they have in a spellbook.
    • You must provide any costly material components required by the spell.

Usage:

The Teleportation Circle contract permit is ideal for players seeking access to high-level magic without relying solely on their own resources. It provides a means to recruit powerful mages to your Bastion for temporary assistance, offering flexibility in solving complex problems with higher-level spells. This facility also offers unique storytelling opportunities, as the recruited spellcasters could have their own motivations, insights, or conditions for helping.
