Tuggard "Tug" Bell

Sergeant of the 9th Company

Sergeant Tuggard "Tug" Bell is the unshakable cornerstone of the 9th Company of the Redeemed Legion—a bald, broad-shouldered dwarf with a beard as thick as rope and fists that feel like getting struck by a smith’s hammer. Gruff in tone but kind in spirit, Tug is the man every recruit fears on their first day and respects for the rest of their career.

Tasked with day-to-day training and discipline, Tug has a legendary ability to turn soft-bodied greenhorns into hardened, disciplined soldiers using nothing more than relentless drill, gravel-voiced lectures, and the occasional well-placed boot. He’s firm, fair, and never asks of his troops what he wouldn’t do himself. Beneath his stern exterior lies a heart of gold—he remembers every name, every face, and always checks on the soldiers who fall behind.

One of the oldest active soldiers in the 9th Company, Tug has served through more campaigns than most officers have seen battles. He’s been offered promotion on several occasions, each time personally by Commander Karina Kessler—but he’s turned her down every time. “I'm right where I belong,” he says. “Let the young ones lead. I’ll make sure they’re ready.”

To many in the 9th, Tug isn’t just a sergeant—he’s a father figure, a forge-master of warriors, and the steady voice in the chaos of war. When Tug shouts a command, even the greenest soldier doesn’t think to hesitate.
