This fine lacquered wooden box contains a deck of 12 enchanted cards, each painted with vibrant, shifting ink that glimmers when touched. Crafted by arcane jesters and illusionist pranksters (some claim Fredrik Summers had a hand in its invention), the Deck of Illusory Delights is used for amusement, storytelling, and the occasional cunning distraction.
Properties:
- Allusory Card (3/day): As an action, you may draw a card from the Deck of Illusory Delights and throw it into the air. The card creates a harmless illusion (as per the Minor Illusion or Silent Image spell, DM’s choice depending on complexity) lasting for 1 minute, or until dismissed. The illusion can be used for entertainment, distraction, or minor mischief but cannot cause harm, interact with objects, or produce sound unless the illusion spell chosen allows it.
- One Might Be Real...
- Once per long rest, when drawing from the deck, roll a d20. On a natural 20, the illusion becomes real for 1 minute. Its form is determined by the image on the card (e.g., a harmless dancing flame becomes a Flame Elemental, a treasure chest might become a Mimic under your command, etc. — DM discretion). After 1 minute, the creature or object disappears. If it takes damage or is reduced to 0 HP, it vanishes early.
