Staff of Verdant Rebirth

Carved from the heartwood of an ancient trees said to grow at the heart of the Stormwoods, the Staff of Verdant Rebirth pulses with natural energy. Verdant ivy coils endlessly around it, never wilting. Its head is crowned with a luminous seedpod that glows faintly when near death or decay.

Legends say the staff was a gift from the First Grove, a mythical druidic order said to walk the borders between baronies, nurturing the rebirth of dying fields of Rivermond. Only a handful of these staves are known to exist—most claimed by archdruids, and some acquired by wealthy collectors or black-market dealers.

Properties:

  • Spellcasting: While attuned, the staff can be used as a spellcasting focus.
  • Nature’s Favor: You gain a +3 bonus to spell attack rolls and the saving throw DCs of your druid spells while attuned to the staff. The staff causes grass to grow in your footsteps.
  • Nature’s Judgement: When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a spell or weapon attack, you may cause wild vegetation to erupt in a 10-foot radius centered on the creature's space. The area becomes difficult terrain for 1 minute and is filled with blooming vines, thorns, and mushrooms. This effect does not require concentration and happens once per turn.
  • Verdant Rituals (1/Long Rest): The staff holds 1 charge that regains on a long rest. You can expend this charge to cast one of the following spells; Plant Growth (no material components) or Reincarnate (as a 1-hour ritual; does not consume the material component, but still requires a body).
