Alice has always found that the only safety she can rely on is her own. Growing up children would bully her for being a "tattle tale". It wasn't until she also began seeing clearly through the lies of the adults around, that the entire town gave her a wide bearth. So she got good at fighting back, defending herself or avoiding conversation all together. The only other solace she found was in books, spending more time in the village's library than in her own pod or hanging around others.
She knows the building like the back of her hand, and found solace in maintaining the library and achieves. She also found a place where interactions were minimized and quiet were the most suited to her aptitudes. When not being the sentry at the front desk, or keeping her coworker Amati Liminzah out of trouble, she will be found at any wall, corner or hidy hole at the outskirts of the village, usually with her nose in a book.
