Beware the ways of man. He is greedy and avaricious beyond understanding. He seeks to possess wealth and riches, but most of all power over others. It is our duty to resist the mad lust of humankind to dominate other races. Not all men are evil, but the worst are their leaders who lead them into wars against us. It is written that only through the power of mithril can we protect our halls.

Mountain Dwarves

Less common and slightly larger than their hill dwarf clansmen, a typical mountain dwarf is, on average, roughly four and a half feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds. Their hair is a lighter shade than their hill cousins', and their skin is slightly more red in color.  These dwarves, as their name implies, live beneath the mountains. As such, their strongholds are usually isolated and they have little contact with other races. Mountain dwarves tend to like their privacy and actively discourage visitors to their strongholds.

Mountain dwarves claim that they are the first dwarves and all other dwarves are descended from them. They are clannish and keep to themselves, being wary of hill dwarves because of their closer dealings with humans, elves, and other races.
