Session 2 - A Party, a Chase and a Fight

Session
September 25, 2021

1493-03-22 - Hour 6 PM - D&D Journal

Session Date: 2021-09-25

At the function where you are speaking to the merchant princes and Queen M (Mwaxanare). When an imposter is revealed. He grabs the chalice and runs while most of the party gives chase.

Avoiding the obstacles in the streets of Port Nyanzaru as people celebrate. He almost escapes through one of the portals; portals that are not supposed to be operational. You eventually catch up to him only to discover he is a doppelganger and has been impersonating Admon. He is the spy that revealed when you were coming to town by ship.

You are about to question him when he poisons himself.

8 PM

With the chalice recovered you return it to Queen M (Mwaxanare) - a second time. You inform her of what happened.

11 PM

Wanting to explore the black market for clues and cool toys you go to the shadier area of Port Nyanzaru in disguise.

You ask questions about the bone weapons and poisons and turn up very little except for the name of a group once called the “Bone Clan

You buy:

- 2 vials of Poison - Ordained - it does double damage

- 3 Truth serum

- 1 vial of paralyzation that can coat 5 arrows

- 2 bone daggers

11:30 PM

You visit a tavern and still discover very little but learn of a local fight club and decide to visit, fight and gamble.

Desda goes into the ring against an opponent and wins easily.

Things begin to go sideways when you are slowly surrounded by a group by-standers.

It is after they have encircled you that several of them strike their staves on the ground, open a magic portal and teleport the party to the mystic plane of Feywild. But not before the group declares they are “The Ordained” and willingly sacrifice themselves to open the portal.

You see an ancient elven tower that was once a masterful work of elven design.

Now it is desecrated, stone warped into foul hooks and barbs. In places, the stonework has crumbled away entirely, exposing the interior to the elements.

The stench of death is discernible, and the tower is visibly shrouded in gloom. It has been marred. In its courtyard are graves that you steer clear of.

Lv 1 - you find nothing

Lv 2 - party encounters a balhannoth and slays it. It was using an illusion to make the room seem welcoming.

Session 3 - Dawnlight Tower

1493-03-23 - Hour 1:00 AM - Dawnlight Tower

Session Date: 2021-12-04

3:00 AM - Lv 2 of Dawnlight Tower - Balhannoth

The party fights the balhannoth and slays it. They find 210 gps from various dead bodies

[30 min]

3:30 AM - Lv 3 of Dawnlight Tower - Spare Parts

You find body parts and crates of body parts in various states of decay; obviously the work of experimentation and necromancy.

In a fireplace you discover a fire elemental that you attempt to speak to and quickly decide bc of it’s demeanor that it’s a bad idea and leave it be.

[Time spent: 30 min]

4:00 AM - Lv 3 of Dawnlight Tower - Armory

The floor is littered with the shattered remains of hundreds of elven artifacts, their magic spent. The sacrilege that has been committed here against each one of these priceless artifacts is unthinkable.

The only unbroken item is a vorpal shortsword (DMG, p 209), that is cursed. The party leaves it behind.

CLUE: The party also finds scrolls detailing each of their weapons of legacy. The scrolls are new and recently written.

[Time spent: 30 min]

4:30 AM - Lv 4 of Dawnlight Tower - Throne Room

This is the room where an entity known as Bhok’Mar sits the vast majority of the time, brooding on his fate - a throne of elven bones.

It is an epic battle. Shortly after it starts a draco-lich appears. Several PC’s go into death saves.

Bhok’Mar’s final comments make it clear that his death is only temporary.

On him you find a VERY convenient scroll of plane shift and Unknown a letter showing that the symbol represents “The Ordained.”

You know the draco-lich or Bhok’Mar has treasure somewhere.

[Time spent: 30 min]

Party Levels Up to Level 12

Where the party left off: Long rest before searching for treasure.
