Zaknalimar

College of Swords Bard
PC

Zaknalimar Farrington

One of the bastard sons of the Secret Lord of Luskan, the Drow Jarlaxle. He shares his father's flair as a "showy peacock" and not taking things too seriously moment-to-moment. A playful sense of humor helps him keep his team together, and he is quite popular within the Drow mercenary force (his father also leads) called the Bregan D'aerthe. His (human) mother is Theodora Farrington, a Lady in Waiting to House Sutcliffe of Neverwinter.

In fact, Zak brings flair and festivity to much of what he does. In a tavern with an instrument and song, in a performance on a stage in the town square, or in a swordfight - he is always thinking about style and how to LOOK GOOD doing whatever he is doing. Fortunately, the fancy for-show swordsmanship he has learned turns out to be pretty effective in actual combat as well. He already has much to tell of early adventures as a sailor, a mercenary soldier, a pirate, and a trouble-making scoundrel - but never, ever anything to embarrass his father, whose respect he enjoys and would never jeopardize.

Personality

Goals
Professionally, Zak seeks to raise his standing and respect in the Bregan D'aerthe to perhaps one day captain a ship or platoon of soldiers. Personally, he deeply loves stories of adventure and making new adventures. (And it is always more important for it to be an enjoyable story than for the details to be true and accurate!)

Ideals
While he loves fun, Zak takes seriously looking and act the part for whatever role he has taken. As a leader and entrusted with responsibility, this includes being well-dressed, well-spoken, having poise and flair - keeping up the group's spirits and morale.

Flaws
Zak is put off by strict rules made only to show power over others - to force behaviors and control with annoying assumption of superiority. To maintain good behavior under these conditions are very difficult for him, requiring Wisdom checks not to speak out and/or rebel.

Bad Habits
Zak will often be so flattering (over-the-top complimenting) people, that it can sound sarcastic or be taken as ridicule. This is not usually his intent, he simply enjoys the "art" in conversation.

Bonds
When Zak is lucky enough to be included in a group - and even more when responsible for leading a group - it becomes his highest priority. Loyalty and inclusion is a core dedication for him.
