This is a character-driven grimdark space horror game based on the upcoming Grimmerspace setting with Lovecraft, Special Containment Procedures, and Ridley Scott flavors added in. Death is always at your heels, but being clever can go a long way... it can also kill you. C'est la vie. The encounters tend to be challenging and set in multi-faceted scenarios, where knowledge eventually leads to insanity. Use tactics, creativity, solid character builds, and alternate paths to make your way through.
The game includes plenty of atmosphere and roleplaying combined with crazy encounters and dice rolling. I try to make it a point to make all aspects of the game be reflected in play. I encourage roleplaying and character depth. The story interleaves multiple main threads along with character backgrounds. Optional play-by-post and flashbacks at almost every session add richness to characters and villains. Character death is a real possibility, so you need to be on your toes. It's not scary if mistakes don't have a real cost.
Magic is light. What is there has an occult flavor. You can play a magic user, but expect reactions similar to what you would get in the modern world. The overall setting is based on science vs magic theme, with the common population being on the side of science. The setting is also very human centric, with androids being the second most represented race and all others comprising single digits altogether. You can be any race aside from aberrations and undead. People will have likely heard of you, but you may get stares. There are no connection to Pact Worlds. This is a different galaxy called the Gliding Rim or G-rim Galaxy.
What's Happening Now
A mysterious figure chases Dr. Nathan Perdu through Unknown while turning its population into mad cannibals in order to perform a grand Sacrifice. Dr. Nathan Perdu finds no escape and decides to trap his mind within Mind Cage as a last ditch attempt to escape his pursuer. But before doing so he sends something using his tablet, locks it, and makes peace with his fate as he looks at an eight year old picture of his wife and daughter, A'aret Perdu.
Unknown arrive at Unknown right after most of the carnage on the station is done. However they are still greeted by psychotic and cannibalistic welcoming party that forces them to fight for their lives as they escape the de-orbiting station. Along the way the run into Hemva, who joins them all the way down to the planet.
Getting Started
This game is a little different...
To make a good character, strive to flesh them out in story as well as mechanics. This section will help you flesh out who your character is and help you make them work against the trials put in front of them.
Losing your mind is part of the fun. Don't go into the game trying to fortify against all dangers. You won't succeed and will rob yourself of the horror aspects the game strives to create. That being said, do make your build survivable. Follow the advice below and your character will do just fine.

This game may be based on the Starfinder system, but it takes critical inspiration from the Call of Cthulhu insanity rules. Just as hit points and stamina, sanity is a scarce resource. Mental anguish and the fragile state of ones psyche is a prevalent theme throughout the game. Characters are regularly in danger of loosing their grasp on reality as they are exposed to the horrors of the universe through encounters, locations, and Mythos knowledge. Sometimes ignorance truly is bliss.
