New Body
During the events of Session 23: The Party and Session 24: The Blackstaff Falls, Osvaldo, whose soul had been captive in Avernus, forced his way back to the Material Plane by claiming his deceased father’s body.
The vessel began to change, reshaping itself toward Osvaldo’s younger likeness—long blond hair, sharp features, a shadowed cloak, and black-and-red finery. As Victoro had lost an arm prior to death, the missing limb is now replaced by an umbral prosthesis. Osvaldo can manifest a sable scythe through an infernal rift and wield it as a favored weapon.
Though he inhabits an adult form, Osvaldo’s mind remains markedly adolescent. Taken to Avernus as a teenager and subjected to a warped passage of time, his psyche reflects the immaturity and volatility of youth despite his restored physical strength.
Osvaldo & Tinnitus
As a child, Osvaldo knew of his half-brother Tinnitus Kakafonia. He interpreted Tinnitus’ banishment as a sign of distinction engineered by their father and grew to idolize him, setting Tinnitus as the measure of his own ambition.
Osvaldo would slip into the city to watch Tinnitus from afar. Eventually he approached him and extended an invitation to witness his bout in the coliseum, where Osvaldo claimed the Arena Championship at the age of sixteen. His soul was taken one month later.
Aftermath and Intent
Osvaldo expresses formal thanks to The Trollskull Crushers for enabling his return. He shows little remorse for Victoro’s death, yet offers an apology to his mother, assuring her that the infernal bargain has been satisfied and that the remaining children’s souls are no longer in jeopardy.
Osvaldo’s fixation on Tinnitus persists—unhealthy, idealized, and absolute. He invited Tinnitus and his companions to “embrace violence together,” an offer they accepted.
Ah, I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for preparing this new body for me.
How long has it been since I've been able to stretch my legs?
Should I perhaps feel bad about my father's fate? No. Not after what he did to me. To US.
Isn't that right, my dear older brother and his merry group of friends? Now, as way of thanking you all, I come before you. To issue challenge and offer singular bliss.
For it is the sole pleasure I know, and it is the sole pleasure I have to share. If you wish to walk away, I will not stop you.
But I know you wouldn't walk away from performing on this grand stage I have set up for you.Let us embrace violence together!
After a brief, almost dance-like exchange of blows, the party overcame Osvaldo—his inexperience within a material body evident. The defeat only reaffirmed his conviction that Tinnitus is a formidable combatant.
Before departing through a portal, he addressed Tinnitus:
Hear me, brother.
Endure. Survive. Live.
For the rush of blood, for the time between the seconds—live.
For the only pleasure left to me in this empty, fleeting world—live.
Live, and grow stronger, so that someday we may share a marvellous dance.
