The orb has remained cold and faintly luminous since deposit. It has not been successfully identified. Several scholars have examined it; none have produced a satisfactory explanation for its composition or the source of its glow. It does not respond to Detect Magic in any consistent way. It has been catalogued under unknown magical objects and kept in the same drawer as this note, per the depositor's apparent intent.
