Sylvenna of the Glimmerfen

The Moonskinned

Sylvenna of the Glimmerfen is known only through fragments: a brief account in the Chronicles of the Shifting Tree, a note left in the Vanaheim Runevault, and scattered oral traditions among the older Alfar and Vanaheim scholars who have read the right texts.

What the Chronicles Say

The account in the Chronicles of the Shifting Tree describes her as "of both isle and elsewhere, her veins full of moonlight." She walked into the mists of the Glimmerfen and found the World Tree waiting -- the only recorded case of a mortal outside the Arch Druid lineage doing so. She returned with hands glowing like embers, speaking of the Tree whispering to her of "roots that drink starlight." The scholarly annotation beside her entry -- added later, in red ink -- reads: "This is the only account of a mortal outside the Arch Druids finding the Tree. Fey blood guided her path. None have repeated this feat."

Some accounts say she never walked among mortals again after returning from the Tree.

The Runevault

At some point before her disappearance, Sylvenna came to the Runevault in Vanaheim and left a small cold-glowing orb in the keeping of the archivists, with a note instructing them to hold it for "someone whose veins hold moonlight." The archivists recorded her deposit but noted she did not give her full name. The object has remained in the collection ever since, unexplained.

The Glimmerfen

The Glimmerfen -- wherever it lies -- does not appear on any map of the Bifrost Isles. The name appears only in association with Sylvenna herself. Vanaheim scholars have speculated it is a marshy or misty area somewhere between Vanaheim and Alfheim, known for persistent fey influence, but no expedition has located it with confidence.

Status

Unknown. She may still live. She may have passed beyond mortal reach entirely. No record of her death exists.
