Description

A thorny parasitic vine with small blue roselike blooms. Grows best in shadowed places. Can be found throughout the Ironlands with the exception of the Tempest Hills.

Interactions

Often obscured by other plants, whether they are the nutrient source for the vine or simply a good source of shade.

Dangers

The thorns and leaves are sharp enough to easily slice most human flesh.

Ingestion of the petals is frequently accompanied by nightmares.

Medicinal Uses

The petals contain small amounts of an analgesic that can be prepared and applied topically. It can have some systemic effect if ingested but has the above limitation.

Culinary Uses

While difficult to harvest and prepare, the leaves are edible.

Practical Uses

When stripped of the sharp edges, the vines are excellent for securing items. While lacking the tensile strength of other ropes, they are exceedingly difficult to slice through-and-through.

Other parts of the plant can be used as short-lived sharp implements if handled cautiously.

Other Uses

Due to its typical surroundings, has a reputation of pulling the shadow realms a bit closer to reality wherever it grows.
