The Astral Plane is the realm of thoughts and dreams, it appears to most creatures as an endless sea of silver clouds. The Astral Sea is peppered with magical pools of coloured light which provide travel to other planes of existence. Gravity does not behave in the same way as on many other planes – objects drift lazily around, but smaller objects tend to slowly be attracted to larger ones.
While on the Astral Plane, mortals do not age or suffer from hunger or thirst. The Astral Sea is home to strange monsters, roving bands of Githyanki warriors, and many lost souls.
Travel
A creature may visiting the astral plane through complex magic known as Astral Projection, by following a portal, or more often by accident when tinkering with powers that they don't understand.
