Session 16

The town is dressed up for a festival--or to the end of it. There are interesting things to do with wolves going on. Traveling through Valaki, Yozsu, Kenji, & Vikta went shopping. Dunal went with Irena to the church of St. Andril. The main man wanted Dunal to convince the party to save the temple. To bring back the bones of St. Andril.

This church is *super fancy* a thin mist covers the churches graveyard. Town has trouble, dear lord… seriously. We can’t save a town we have other things to do… lol

Like saving that one prince.

Say yes, so we can stop being responsible for her -Steph thinks when Irena is asking about staying at the church.

Lord V is apparently not happy or a fan of strangers? Hmmm…

Ember & Yozsu want gear. The blacksmith is measuring out Embers hands and Kenji/Vikta are watching him with sus eyes.

Ember is getting fist weapons! One For crushing, One for stabbing.

Yozsu is getting a new tail weapon ;) kinky. Kinky indeed :d

Vikta gets him to LAUGH! About the wolf pelts, and how we were “fitting”, we look the part.

The man warns us to “act natural” with the townspeople. It seems this town enforces “happiness”.

Vikta is starting to pick up more knowledge about magic as she follows the party around. Her nose continues to stay in her book.

As we head to check in with the Vestani we find out that the townspeople are less than welcoming. The party thinks to intervene--not liking the treatment to our friends but hear them called “devil’s servants” aka Strahd’s goons. They are barred from town. Vikta’s aware that the guards fully believe this. Kenji doesn’t care. Vikta’s fear is about the fact we seem poised to go against Strahd...

Ember catches Shiva’s eyes she’s piiiiised, but motions to Ember to keep in mind which way the Vestani went so that the party can continue following them and meet back up later. We don’t know how long they will wait for us.

The party talks with an old man who creeps the entire party out, Ember gives him *way* too much money--Vikta comments to Yozsu that commoners--homeless with too much money = death if they cannot explain and convince people of how they got that much money. Yozsu says not to tell Ember. Vikta later mentions to Ember that maybe they need to have a talk…

The old man tells us how it seemed strange to him how the baron has so many celebrations. They enforce happiness, they say its to keep the town safe. Festival every week.

“What’s not to enjoy...He keeps us safe--right?”

We ask where the baron is, however after much discussion we decide we do not know when the Vestani will move on… we might want to just get our coin and go. Time to collect Dunal and the others.

We follow festival goers to the church they stampede… and then things get weird--really culty. The party grows more concerned as more people speak of loved ones being imprisoned/taken away for not smiling or being joyous in some way.

“You ladies are savages.” -Kenji When we talk about getting our money and getting out. Fuck them richies.

“Come up with the gold or we take kneecaps.” -Kenji

Hearing what is happening in the church… The ladies of the party is like hrmmm we should start our own followers--a church of our own.

PArty informs Irena they want their payment--and that we need to leave. The town is freaking so many of us out--and its not a safe place. In that regard--we inform Irena that people are being drug off.

She wants us to stay and protect her...Ember/Cynder pulls a smooth one trying to convince Irena to worship Cynder as the current “god” of the area isn’t helping. Impressing/stunning the party Irena eventually agrees to go with the party as long as they agree to protect her while we travel.

“Swear your fidelity to me”-Cynder

“Gods are mystical/whymsical creatures...I am very real”-Cynder
