The Akheilos Revolt was a palace coup for the throne of Coralan that began on 10 Pluvius 1232, when Phrixus of House Akheilos andKastor of House Thalassa along with their followers assassinated King Basil and many of his court. Phrixus had long chafed under Basil's rule, and longed to assume the throne himself.

Phrixus and Kastor decided that the best time to strike would be at the birthday party for the King's sister, Harmonia. All of the king's family, and most of the important officers and officials of the kingdom would be present and in the same room. Such formal occasions are infrequent in Coralanese culture, but the King had a special fondness for his sister.
