And'zrel Dyrr is a notorious pirate captain, and an drow outcast. He captains the ship Darkness, and is infamous for his tactics of only attacking at night. This gives him a distinct advantage and generates a great deal of fear in the hearts of sailors. The Darkness sails without running lights, and with its black sails, and dark wood is all but invisible at night.
Originally from Menzoberranzan, he was cast out of his family and city for unknown reasons. He eventually made his way to the Crow's Rest where through his fighting skill and sheer savagery made a name for himself and eventually a captain's helm.
