Blade of Mercy

The dagger that pierced St. Ambrien’s heart as he was being burned. This blade is known as The Blade of Mercy. There is a great deal of debate regarding if Lorenzo was the one who mercifully ended St. Ambrien’s suffering, or if Lorenzo simply obtained the blade from someone else. On his deathbed, St. Lorenzo is said to have given this blade to a slave known as Trefir with the instructions to ‘prune that which causes the vine to rot’. Trefir went on to form the Blades of St. Lorenzo, a quasi-religious organization of assassins.

Is this a dagger which I see before me,
The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee.
I have thee not, and yet I see thee still.
Art thou not, fatal vision, sensible
To feeling as to sight? Or art thou but
A dagger of the mind, a false creation,
