Tal’Alora, The City of Wind, stands before you. It stands on a hill surrounded by forested low ground. The buildings are obscured behind trees, and what was once brilliant, gleaming, marble and wood has now regained its natural colors. The delicate elven architecture maintains much of its beauty, but there is an air of melancholy about the ruins. Time has not been kind to the city: glass is broken, roads reclaimed by grass, roofs caved in. It appears that whenever the elves left (sometime during the great war), they did so suddenly. Plates and goblets remain on tables visible through open doors. The wood of the city gates has long since rotted away, giving you free access into the city.
Linyaél – Pool of Stars. It is said that one can see the stars of the Feywild in the water of Linyael. Those who have travelled to the Feywild through this portal said “Swim down until you start going up”. Circular pool ringed in white stone with delicate scrollwork carved all around. The pool is remarkable clear of leaves and muck for not having been maintained for a thousand years. The riddle is as follows:
Light as a feather, yet no man can hold it for long
The answer is Breath. If no one says “Breath” in Elvish than the Guardian (the watery form of an elven warrior) will rise up out of the water and hit the person who first touches the water.
History - The last leader of the city was Thiala Cithreth, also known as the Whirlwind of Vilya
Locations
- Guardian's Grove - Home of Beechleaf, an ent.
- Linyaél - A pool located in the city that grants access to the Feywild if the proper password is spoken. As the magic has not been maintained in over a thousand years, successful use requires visiting on specific days of the year when the barrier between the planes is thinner.
- Mistral Grove
- Nightingale Repository is a vast building of beautiful spires, circular stair cases, delicate glass and scrollwork. Malachai believes that the Focus is in the vaults somewhere.
