The Ethereal Sea is a monstrous invisible sea that stretches throughout the heavens, and houses the world of Ashling and is suspected to house many other worlds as well. Rumors abound that the Ethereal Sea was created before the gods by the very essence of chaos, whilst some others muse that the sea is chaos itself. All planes sit within the Ethereal Sea, and where the sea goes beyond the sphere of Ashling, it is simply referred to as Ethereal Beyond. The Ethereal Sea is also sometimes referred to as the Deep Ethereal.
